Hemp Dog Collar and Leash

Hemp leash features a woven design with a metal lever clasp.
The collar has the same design as the leash and features two belt loops, black metal buckle, one spoke and a silver metal loop for connecting to clasp on leash.

This product is carefully handcrafted in Nepal by working women's co-ops and small cottage industry producers. The hemp plant grows wild in the remote western regions of the Himalayan foothills. Here the plant is harvested by hand, the fibers are softened in water and then separated using the tooth and spinal method. The twine is then hand-woven into a fabric using a pit loom.
Using this fabric cloth, artisans in Kathmandu make each item using only scissor+sewing machines. 
The occasional unevenness of colour and slubs in the fabric should not be regarded as defects. They are characteristics of the natural and handwoven yarns which give hemp its rich and beautiful texture.
